The name UTM stands for Umgodi Tenement Management, with "Umgodi" meaning “hole in the ground” in Swahili, a nod to our South African roots and the foundation of our work in the mining and exploration industry.
Since our inception, UTM Global has experienced rapid growth, built on a strong reputation for delivering professional, personalised, and efficient tenement and mining management services across Australia. Our success is driven not only by technical expertise, but by our commitment to building lasting relationships with key stakeholders — including government departments, local councils, landholders, native title parties, and industry bodies.

Our Principal
Eden Hodson
Eden Hodson is a highly respected leader in Australia’s mining sector, leveraging over 20 years of industry experience to her role as Co-Founder and Principal of UTM Global. Since entering the mining industry in 2004, Eden has built a career defined by technical excellence, regulatory expertise, and a steadfast commitment to her clients' success.
In 2011, Eden co-founded UTM Global, a prominent, family-owned firm specialising in exploration and mining tenement management across Australia. Under her leadership, the company has grown to become a trusted partner for miners navigating the often-complex landscape of compliance, tenure strategy, and land access.
Her pragmatic, solutions-focused approach ensures clients are equipped for both immediate exploration needs and long-term operational goals. Eden combines deep industry knowledge with a sharp understanding of Australia's regulatory frameworks, making her an invaluable advisor in a rapidly evolving sector.
Eden is a passionate advocate for the energy and resources industries. She served on the committee of WISER, a national organisation focused on empowering women through networking, mentorship, and leadership development. Additionally, Eden is an active participant in the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC), furthering her dedication to advancing industry standards.
